- Administer and maintain our SQL Server farm (15-20 servers), which acts as the Operational Data Store (ODS) for our real-time API stack.

Performance Tuning & Optimization :

- Proactively monitor and tune long-running queries to optimize performance and resource utilization.

- Identify and prevent costly data shuffles and inefficient query patterns in Snowflake.

- Implement best practices for database performance, indexing, and data partitioning.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery :

- Harden and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for both Snowflake and SQL Server to ensure maximum uptime.

- Develop and test backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.

Data Flow & Integration :

- Ensure data flows smoothly and reliably across our AWS and Microsoft ecosystems.

- Collaborate with Java and Python development teams to support the real-time API stack and

resolve data-related issues.

Problem Solving :

- Proactively identify and resolve complex database issues.

- Develop and implement a robust monitoring and alerting strategy for all database systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Expertise :

- Snowflake : Proven hands-on experience as a DBA with Snowflake, including performance tuning, query optimization, and resource management.

- SQL Server : Extensive experience with SQL Server administration (versions 2016+), including HA/DR, backups, and performance tuning.

Cloud & Ecosystem :

- Experience working in both AWS and Microsoft Azure/ecosystems.

Soft Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with development and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) :

- Experience in the retail industry.

- Knowledge of real-time data processing and API architecture.
