About the Role :

We are seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team as a Technical Advisor. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in SQL Server database administration, with a proven track record in installation, upgrades, migration, and ensuring high availability of critical database systems. This role demands a hands-on expert who can provide technical guidance, perform performance tuning, and troubleshoot complex database issues to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migration of SQL Server databases across multiple environments.

- Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Database Mirroring, Replication, and Clustering.

- Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and effective resource management.

- Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies using native SQL Server tools and third-party backup solutions.

- Write and maintain scripts in T-SQL and PowerShell to automate routine database administration tasks.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, collaborating with development, infrastructure, and application teams.

- Provide technical advisory and strategic guidance on database architecture, security, and best practices.

- Ensure compliance with database security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

- Mentor junior DBAs and act as a subject matter expert for SQL Server database technologies.

Required Skills and Experience :

- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in SQL Server Database Administration.

- Expertise in SQL Server installation, upgrades, patching, and migration across various versions and platforms.

- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Mirroring, Replication, and Clustering.

- Proven skills in performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and diagnosing database performance issues.

- Experience with backup and recovery strategies using both native SQL Server tools and third-party backup solutions.

- Proficiency in scripting languages, especially T-SQL and PowerShell, to automate and streamline database tasks.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide technical advisory services.

- Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are a plus.

- Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS.

- Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
