Job Description :

- Knowledge of Failover clustering, SQL server AlwaysOn Groups, SQL server mirroring, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies

- Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the businesss Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)

- Test backups to ensure we can meet the business Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)

- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.

- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.

- As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies.

- Install and configure new SQL Servers

- Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors.

- When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.

- Document the companys database environment.

- Monitoring of database performance and stability

- Establish the baseline for system performance, recognize deviation, and suggest and implement improvements to slow running queries

- Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.

- Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with the engineering team.

- Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.

- Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.

- Administering SQL Server, the backup, integration, restore, reporting and maintenance processes.

- Diagnose and analyze using third-party diagnostic tools.

- SQL Server security configuration and management

- Work with the team on migrating older versions of SQL Server to new, if required.

- Administer and maintain Azure SQL managed instance.

- Development on Power BI, if required.

- Create Business Requirement document, KPI dimensions matrix, source to target mapping documents.

MSSQL DBA Job Requirements :

- Experience on Microsoft SQL Server 2008,2012, 2014,2016,2017,2019,2022.

- Production Support Activities (Installation, Upgradation and Troubleshooting).

- Performance Tuning & troubleshooting

- SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019/2022 Migration.

- T-SQL Scripts for Administration and Monitoring tasks.

- Microsoft Clustering services (MSCS) knowledge- Install/Configure/support.

- Relevant knowledge of the operating system (2008, 2012,2016,2019) as far as MS-SQL databases is concerned.

- High Availability (Log shipping, Replication and Mirroring) Always ON

- User creation & maintenance, database log space monitoring and maintenance.

- Good knowledge on Always on and high availability

- Strong fundamentals of SQL.

- Strong in SQL Architecture, Backup & Restore process.

- Configuring CDC replication.

- Configuring TDE in always on servers.

- Knowledge on ITIL process.

- Good communication, should be able to clarify issues with customer
