Database Administrator - Snowflake DB

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake DBA with strong expertise in managing Snowflake environments and a solid background in SQL Server database administration (on-premises). This role will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of our Snowflake data platform while also supporting legacy SQL Server systems.

Primary Responsibilities :

- Administer, monitor, and optimize Snowflake databases, warehouses, and user access.

- Implement best practices for Snowflake performance tuning, data sharing, and security features.

- Perform Snowflake account management, resource monitoring, and cost optimization.

- Automate routine Snowflake maintenance tasks using Snowflake Tasks, Streams, and Procedures.

- Implement and manage data replication, backup, and recovery strategies within Snowflake.

- Manage role-based access control (RBAC) and enforce compliance/security policies.

- Collaborate with data engineering teams to support ETL/ELT pipelines and optimize queries.

- Work as a secondary SQL Server DBA for on-premises environments supporting :

- SQL Server installation, configuration, patching

- Performance tuning, backup & recovery

- High availability (AlwaysOn, clustering), replication & mirroring

- Security administration and troubleshooting

Required Skills :

- 8 to 16 years of total experience in database administration.

- Primary Skill: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake DBA activities.

- Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, data sharing, and security.

- Secondary Skill: 5+ years experience in SQL Server Administration (on-prem).

- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms.

- Strong scripting abilities (SQL, SnowSQL, PowerShell or Python).

- Experience working in DevOps / CI-CD environments is a plus.

- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have) :

- SnowPro Core / Advanced Certification

- Microsoft Certified: Azure/SQL Database Administrator
