Job Description :

We are hiring an experienced Progress DBA with strong expertise in Progress OpenEdge Database Administration. The role involves managing, monitoring, and optimizing Progress databases in a UNIX environment with a focus on performance tuning, disaster recovery, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Progress Database Administration on OpenEdge V11 or higher in UNIX/Linux environment.

- Installation, upgrades, database creation and maintenance.

- Manage advanced OE features : Auditing, CDC, AI Management, Replication, PAS.

- Perform dump & load (sequential, parallel, multi-threaded) and type conversions (Type1 ? Type2).

- Develop and manage backup & recovery strategies and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning.

- Configure, monitor, and maintain AdminServer, NameServer, and AppServer.

- Write and optimize shell/bash scripts for automation.

- Support Progress version migrations and OS migrations.

- Ensure high database availability and performance tuning.

- Basic knowledge of Progress 4GL for troubleshooting and support.

Desired Candidate Profile :

- 8+ years of experience as a Progress DBA / OpenEdge DBA.

- Hands-on experience in Performance Tuning, Backup, DR, Replication, and OE features.

- Strong UNIX/Linux experience with scripting skills (shell/bash).

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Flexible to work in rotational shifts.
