Job Description :
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Greenplum and Oracle database environments.
- Implement and manage backup, restore, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, and indexing for large telecom data volumes.
- Conduct user access management, role-based security, and compliance enforcement.
- Support data sharing and integration with downstream systems for analytics and reporting.
- Work closely with data engineers, developers, and architects to align DB design with project requirements.
- Analyze logs, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure database uptime and reliability.
- Provide expert advice on PostgreSQL/Greenplum internals, replication strategies, and cluster configurations.
- Stay up to date with advancements in database technology, especially in MPP architectures.
Required Skills & Experience :
- 12 - 15 years of experience in Database Administration, including at least 5+ years of in-depth Greenplum and PostgreSQL administration.
- Strong understanding of Greenplum internals, segment/primary/mirror nodes, resource queues, and parallel query execution.
- Experience managing large-scale telecom databases, including billing, usage, network, and customer data domains.
Proven expertise in :
- SQL performance tuning
- Backup/recovery tools and scripts
- Data replication and partitioning
- DB patching, upgrades, and maintenance
- Familiarity with Oracle RDBMS (basic to intermediate level).
- Working knowledge of Linux OS and shell scripting.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Familiarity with ETL/data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, NiFi, Kafka pipelines).
- Exposure to cloud database technologies (AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, etc.) for hybrid models.
- Experience in automating DBA tasks and scripting for monitoring and alerting.
- Understanding of data governance, data privacy, and security compliance in telecom environments.
