Database Administrator - Performance Tuning

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our SQL and Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and security of our data systems while supporting development and business teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server and Oracle databases

- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies

- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures

- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal policies

- Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and database design

- Perform regular audits and updates to maintain system health

- Automate routine tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Shell)

- Document database architecture, procedures, and standards

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Proven experience as a DBA with both SQL Server and Oracle

- Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL

- Hands-on experience with Oracle tools (RMAN, Data Guard, OEM)

- Familiarity with performance tuning and query optimization

- Knowledge of database security protocols and user access controls

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

- Oracle DBA certification (OCA/OCP) is a plus

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Azure SQL)

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments

- Understanding of database replication and clustering

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
