Database Administrator - MySQL/SQL Server

Job Description :

- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.

- Good knowledge of MySQL, MS SQL features, AWS RDS.

- Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.

- Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. is preferred.

- Understanding of code versioning tools such as, Git/ SVN etc preferred Skills.

- Superior interpersonal skills, a good team player.

- Ownership and accountability attitude.

- Data orientation and analytical ability.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.

Key Responsibilities :

- Database administrator will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL, MS SQL, and AWS RDS instances. He will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances.

- He will work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.

- Provision MySQL, MS SQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations on Data Center and Cloud environments.

- Provision DMS jobs, RDS DB environment on AWS, Azure Cloud platforms.

- Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.

- Prepare documentations and specifications.

- Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.

- Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.

- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
