Job summary :

We are looking for a hands-on MySQL DBA with 23 years of experience to manage, tune and maintain MySQL databases (including clustering & replication) for production systems.

The ideal candidate will own availability, backup & recovery, performance tuning, and monitoring for OLTP workloads.

Key responsibilities :

- Install, configure and maintain MySQL instances (5.7/8.0 or higher) in production and staging.

- Design, implement and manage MySQL clustering and high-availability solutions (Galera / Percona XtraDB Cluster / MySQL InnoDB Cluster or equivalent).

- Implement and maintain replication topologies (asynchronous, semi-sync, group replication); perform failover and recovery.

- Performance tuning : diagnose slow queries, optimize schema/indexes, tune MySQL configuration and OS-level settings.

- Backup & recovery strategy : implement automated backups, test restores, point-in-time recovery.

- Monitor DB health (alerts, metrics) and troubleshoot DB incidents (connectivity, locking, replication lag).

- Work with developers to review schema changes, query plans and migrations.

- Maintain security best practices : users, roles, encryption, audit as per policy.

Required skills & qualifications :

- 2 to 3 years hands-on experience as MySQL DBA or Database Engineer.

- Strong practical knowledge of MySQL internals (InnoDB, buffer pool, transaction handling).

- Experience with MySQL clustering & HA solutions (Galera, Percona XtraDB Cluster, MySQL Group Replication, or InnoDB Cluster).

- Experience implementing and troubleshooting replication (master-slave, master-master, multi-source).

- Experience with backup tools (mysqldump, xtrabackup, mysqlpump) and recovery operations.

- Solid Linux administration skills (system tuning, I/O, kernel params).

- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana, Percona Monitoring & Management, Zabbix, Nagios).

- Knowledge of automation/config management (Ansible, Terraform, Chef) is a plus.

- Good troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills.
