Job Description :

We are looking for 5+ years of administrator experience in DocumentDB/MySQL/PostgreSQL Databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Snowflake data warehouse environment. You will provide 24/7 production support, troubleshoot issues, monitor system health, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a reliable and efficient Snowflake platform.

Technical Skills :

- Hands-on experience managing and supporting MySQL OR PostgreSQL in a production environment.

- Strong knowledge of No SQL internals, architecture, data modeling, replication, and consistency levels.

- Proficiency in troubleshooting cluster issues, performance tuning, and capacity planning.

- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.

- Experience with monitoring tools like Cloudwatch, Appdynamics, Cron, Autosys or similar.

- Understanding of distributed systems and high-availability concepts.

- Expertise in performance tuning.

- In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring).

- Understanding of ETL/ELT tools and data integration patterns.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Ability to work in a 24/7 support rotation and handle urgent production issues.

- Strong understanding of relational database concepts.

- Experience with database design, modeling, and optimization is good to have.

- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and developing stored procedures.

- Familiarity with data security is the best practice and backup procedures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of database systems including Amazon Aurora and RDS.

- Provide 24/7 production support, troubleshoot database-related issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Monitor database health using tools such as CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Cron, AutoSys, or equivalents.

- Perform capacity planning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.

- Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and database design.

- Implement data security best practices and manage user permissions.

- Write and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.

- Work in rotation for 24/7 support coverage and respond promptly to production incidents.

- Utilize shell scripting and work with Linux/Unix operating systems.

- Understand and manage distributed systems and clustering for high availability.
