Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in DB2 and Oracle databases hosted on Azure Cloud. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, reliability, and security while driving automation, cloud migrations, and proactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Apply necessary fix packs, patches, and security updates promptly.
- Automate redirect restores from production to integration environments.
- Facilitate database migrations from on-premises to Azure Cloud.
- Establish and document processes for database patching, security, and maintenance plans.
- Conduct regular maintenance activities (REORG, RUNSTATs) for performance optimization.
- Perform daily monitoring of database health and implement performance improvements.
- Collaborate with Azure Advisors to mitigate and resolve database-related security vulnerabilities.
- Participate in outage calls, investigate issues, and provide effective database solutions.
- Design and implement end-to-end backup and recovery strategies.
- Leverage automation tools (Ansible, AWX) for upgrades, patching, and operational tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- Hands-on expertise with Azure Cloud database services.
- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.
- Proficiency in performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in database migration (on-premises to cloud).
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, AWX, or similar).
- Solid understanding of security best practices for databases.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD for database management.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Python, or PowerShell).
- Exposure to enterprise-level IT support models and compliance frameworks.
