Description :

Key Responsibility & Requirements :

- Database Deployment and Configuration

- IBM Guardium minimum 1year exp Mandatory

Design and provision databases in Azure using :

- Azure SQL Database

- Azure Database for PostgreSQL / MySQL

- Azure Managed Instance for SQL Server

- Azure VM-based Oracle installations (IaaS)

- Install, configure, and upgrade on-prem and cloud-hosted SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL databases.

Performance Tuning and Optimization :

- Analyze query performance using Query Store, Extended Events (SQL Server), AWR/ASH (Oracle), or pg_stat_statements (PostgreSQL).

- Index tuning, query rewriting, execution plan analysis.

- Resource governance and workload balancing.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) :

Implement HA/DR solutions in Azure :

- Always On Availability Groups (SQL Server)

- Oracle Data Guard (for Oracle on Azure VMs)

- PostgreSQL HA (Patroni, Azure Flexible Server zones)

Configure and manage backups using :

- Azure Backup

- Native tools (RMAN, pg_dump, mysqldump)

- Point-in-time restore in Azure SQL and PostgreSQL

Security and Compliance :

- Implement database-level and instance-level security :

- TDE (Transparent Data Encryption)

- Data masking

- Row-Level Security / Label Security

- Manage Azure AD integration with databases

- Handle audit logging and compliance checks for ISO, PCI, HIPAA

Monitoring and Maintenance :

- Set up and maintain health checks and job automation (via Azure Automation, cron, SQL Server Agent).

Monitor with :

- Azure Monitor

- Log Analytics

- Custom dashboards (Grafana + Azure Logs, Kibana)

- Proactive capacity planning and anomaly detection

Database Migration and Replication :

- Plan and execute migrations to Azure using :

- Minimal downtime cutovers and rollback strategies

Automation and DevOps Integration :

- Develop automation scripts for :

- Backup verification

- Index/statistics maintenance

- Resource scaling

Collaboration and Documentation :

- Work closely with developers, cloud engineers, and application support teams.

- Maintain SOPs, runbooks, migration plans, security documentation.

- Participate in incident and change management (ITIL-aligned).

Professional Certifications (If Any) :

- Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate

- Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate / Professional

- PostgreSQL Certified Professional (optional but valuable)
