Database Administration - SQL Server

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer, maintain, and support MS SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

- Perform performance tuning and optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

- Configure and troubleshoot transactional replication, ensuring data integrity and availability.

- Manage backup, restore, and recovery processes as per business requirements.

- Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for SQL Server.

- Handle access provisioning and security administration.

- Provide L1 support for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases (knowledge of these is a plus).

- Work closely with Windows Server and Active Directory environments.

- Adapt and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and incident resolution.

- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to provide database support as required.

- Maintain clear and concise documentation for database configurations, processes, and policies.

Qualifications & Skills :

- Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in MS SQL Server database administration.

- Familiarity with Oracle Database and PostgreSQL administration is an added advantage.

- Strong experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting in SQL Server.

- Knowledge of transactional replication setup and troubleshooting.

- Solid understanding of backup and recovery strategies and models.

- Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

- Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work independently with a proactive and get-it-done attitude.

- Flexibility to work in a 24x7 support environment.

- Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate certification preferred.
