Job Role/Title : Data Scientist


Experience : 2 to 10


Location : Chennai


Salary Range : 8 LPA 18 LPA


Key Responsibilities :


- Develop and implement machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models to detect and prevent financial crime activities such as fraud, money laundering, and sanctions breaches.

- Build and enhance OMR (Operational Model Risk) models and OMR reporting frameworks for financial crime risk management.

- Perform quantitative modeling and analysis to support transaction monitoring and sanction screening workflows.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk, compliance, and IT to ensure models meet regulatory and business requirements.

- Analyze large datasets to identify suspicious patterns and emerging threats related to financial crime.

- Continuously improve existing models and contribute to the innovation of new approaches to combat financial crime using data science techniques.


- Prepare detailed documentation and reports on model performance and findings.

- Support audit and regulatory reviews related to financial crime detection models.


Required Skills and Experience :


- 2 to 5 years of experience in data science, quantitative modeling, or financial crime analytics.

- Proven experience with ML/AI algorithms and their application in real-world financial crime use cases.

- Hands-on experience with OMR modeling or OMR reporting in the financial crime domain.

- Strong understanding of sanction screening, transaction monitoring, or other financial crime risk management processes.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and model development.

- Experience working with large datasets and advanced statistical techniques.

- Good knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to financial crime (e.g., AML, KYC, Sanctions compliance).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.

- Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience in banking, financial services, or a financial crime-related consulting environment.

- Prior exposure to deploying models in production environments and monitoring model performance.

- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and model validation principles.
