About the Role :

This is a high-impact leadership role blending business acumen, advanced data science expertise, and engineering excellence. You will lead innovation in AI/ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI while building and scaling a world-class data science function.

As a Data Scientist / Lead Data Scientist, you will :

- Architect, design, and productionise AI/ML solutions using Python-based frameworks.

- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, ML engineers & developers (1015 globally).

- Drive adoption of GenAI, LLM+RAG, and Agentic AI into real-world business products.

- Collaborate closely with global stakeholders across India, UK, and US.

Key Responsibilities :

- Partner with Product Engineering leadership to design and deliver AI-first digital platforms.

- Provide hands-on technical leadership in Python, PyTorch, Django/Flask, and scalable APIs.

- Own the end-to-end architecture and deployment of data science pipelines into live production.

- Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performance AI/ML team.

- Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies (LLMs, RAG, open-weight models, Agentic AI) for practical adoption.

- Ensure robust testing, monitoring, and deployment of ML solutions in enterprise environments.

Desired Skills :

- Strong expertise in Python programming and cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Hands-on experience with GenAI, NLP, LLMs, and Computer Vision.

- Proven track record of deploying ML models to production.

- Deep understanding of ML pipelines, data engineering, and MLOps best practices.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage C-level and business stakeholders.

- Ability to work with distributed teams across global time zones.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Agentic AI techniques.

- Financial Services / Lending domain expertise.

- Background in both high-growth startups and large, global enterprises.

Demonstrated expertise in :

- Managing and scaling teams (1015 members).

- Building and deploying end-to-end ML pipelines.

- Working directly with clients/products in Financial Services.

- Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Education :

- Bachelors or Masters degree from a Tier-1/Tier-2 institution (IIT, BITS, IIIT, NIT, IISc, ISI, IIM for MBAs) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

- Formal training in AI/ML technologies; Financial Services knowledge is an advantage
