Job Description : Data Protection Specialist

Job Type : Level 1 & 2 data protection expert responsible for implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise backup infrastructure.

Role & responsibilities :

- Installation, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of backup applications on servers and endpoints.

- Define and enforce backup policies, retention schedules, and storage policies to meet RPO/RTO targets.

- Perform capacity planning; Analyze storage consumption and performance.

- Take initiative to find root causes to proactively prevent recurrence of issues.

- Consistent regular interaction with internal & vendor team and updates to Incident tickets.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation.

- Support sales team in solution sizing, poc, & BOQ.

Required Technical Expertise :

- Strong hands-on expertise & experience in deploying & managing either of the leading backup softwares; Veeam, Commvault, Veritas / Cohesity, IBM Storage Protect / TSM / Spectrum Protect.

- Deep expertise in implementing enterprise backup and API agent integration for applications and databases such as SQL, Oracle, VMware, SAP, NAS, cloud backups, and disaster recovery.

- L1 & L2 level competency to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues.

- Expertise in configuring various storage devices including Libraries, tape driver, autoloader, VTL.

- Experience in implementing immutable / WORM compliant storage backup repositories with locks (Object Lock) on disk and cloud libraries to prevent deletion is preferable and shall have added advantage.

- Experience in implementing Air-Gap Backup Architecture (logical or physical) using for ransomware isolation is preferable and shall have added advantage.

- Expertise in configuring endpoint backup solution such as Veritas DLO is highly preferable.

- Knowledge on Unix, Linux, Shell Scripting, Windows, Network, VMware and Cloud.

- Expertise in performing data restorations for various types of data sets in accordance to policy.
