Role Description :

The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, designing, and executing data migration projects. This includes extracting data from source systems, transforming it to meet the requirements of the target systems, and loading it into the new environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, ETL processes, and database technologies, with the ability to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the migration process.

Responsibilities :

- Plan and execute data migration projects, including defining scope, objectives, and timelines.

- Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships, and dependencies.

- Develop data migration strategies, including ETL processes, data cleansing, and data validation.

- Extract data from source systems using various tools and techniques.

- Transform data to meet the requirements of the target systems, including data mapping, data cleansing, and data enrichment.

- Load data into the target systems, ensuring data quality and integrity.

- Perform data validation and testing to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the migrated data.

- Identify and resolve data migration issues and risks.

- Document data migration processes, procedures, and best practices.

- Collaborate with stakeholders, including business users, data owners, and IT teams.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in data management, with a focus on data migration.

- Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.

- Experience with various database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage).

- Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation languages.

- Experience with data quality tools and techniques.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) are a plus
