Data Migration Architect

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Architect to lead the design, planning, and execution of complex data migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data architecture, ETL processes, cloud/on-premise migration, and database technologies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to ensure seamless migration with minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and implement end-to-end data migration strategies, frameworks, and methodologies.

- Assess source and target systems to define migration scope, risks, dependencies, and timelines.

- Develop data mapping, cleansing, transformation, and validation rules to ensure accuracy and consistency.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, application owners, and data governance teams to ensure data quality and compliance.

- Architect and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines, automation scripts, and migration tools for large-scale projects.

- Provide leadership and guidance to data migration teams during planning, execution, and testing phases.

- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data governance standards.

- Conduct post-migration validation and performance tuning for optimized system operations.

- Stay updated on emerging cloud migration trends (AWS, Azure, GCP) and recommend best practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Proven experience (8+ years) in data architecture, database administration, or data migration projects.

- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, etc.).

- Hands-on experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, NoSQL).

- Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and master data management (MDM).

- Experience in cloud migration projects (AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, SQL, Shell, PowerShell).

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
