Senior Data Engineer, Snowflake

About the Role :

We're looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data team in Gurgaon. This is an on-site position requiring you to work from our office five days a week. You will be instrumental in building and optimizing our data platform, leveraging the full power of Snowflake to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions. If you have a solid background in ETL/ELT development and a knack for creating efficient data pipelines, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities :

- Develop and Maintain Data Pipelines : Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using native Snowflake features like Tasks, Streams, and Stored Procedures.

- Data Modeling and Optimization : Design and implement scalable data models, applying best practices such as clustering keys and optimizing micro-partitioning for improved query performance.

- Real-time and Data Lake Integration : Implement Snowpipe for efficient, real-time data ingestion and integrate with our data lake using external tables.

- Complex Transformations : Develop intricate JavaScript/SQL stored procedures and user-defined functions (UDFs) to perform complex data transformations and business logic.

- Advanced SQL Development : Write and optimize complex SQL queries, utilizing advanced concepts like window functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and pivots.

- Cost Management (Good to Have) : Manage multi-cluster warehouses and implement resource monitors to ensure cost-effective resource utilization and control.

Requirements :

- Experience : 3-6 years of professional experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Snowflake development.

Technical Skills :

- Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake development.

- Strong proficiency in Snowflake SQL and a working knowledge of basic JavaScript stored procedures.

- Hands-on experience with core Snowflake features, including Tasks, Streams, Stages, File Formats, and Time Travel.

- Familiarity with dbt core concepts (models, sources, tests, snapshots).

- Understanding of warehouse sizing, auto-suspend/resume, and general query optimization techniques.

- Familiarity with Snowflake's Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), various data types, and handling semi-structured data (JSON/XML).

- Basic knowledge of the SnowSQL CLI and the Snowflake web interface.
