Data Engineer - Python

Responsibilities :

- Developing/Supporting complex efforts involving Analysis, Design, Development, and testing of various application components within the Asset Management domain.

- Implements solutions that are aligned with business/IT strategies and comply with Nuveen's Architectural standards.

- Resolves complex application and technical problems.

- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies.

- Provides mentoring and training to more junior staff.

- Handles complex operational tasks and recommends processing and technology changes.

- Investigate, analyse, and document reported defects.

- Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates that meet SDLC standards.

- Leads and develops complex architecture requirements analysis to convert end-user needs into technical solutions.

- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.

- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

- Delivers solutions requiring integration of multiple platforms and applications across the enterprise.

- Communicates the design of the technical architecture clearly to other leaders within the organisation.

- Designs the development and implementation of the overall architecture, and helps define a "blueprint" for technical architecture to support mission needs.

Requirements :

- Hands-on developer capable of debugging the system and fixing production-related issues.

- Strong ability to analyse functional needs that drive the analysis and technical design of quality technical solutions.

- Skillsets : (Python, AWS - EKS, S3 Lambda, Glue, EMR, RDS Data Stores, CloudFront, API Gateway).

- 7+ years of experience in IT platform development in a technical and analytical role.

- Expertise in AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute (EC2), Glue, Amazon S3 EKS, Lambda etc.

- Experience in developing applications using Python, Glue(ETL), Lambda, step functions etc. services in AWS.

- Experience in Unit testing.

- Understanding of Terraform scripts and CI/CD process.

- Desirable to have worked on the following tools : Eventbridge, AppFlow, AirFlow(MWAA), Quicksight.

- Desired domain skills - Asset management and Trading life Cycle.

- Good communication skills.

- Mandatory skills : Python, AWS, SQL, experience using Python, AWS, Snowflake, AWS Glue with PYSPARK.

- Desired skills : Integration with Starburst, Terraform Scripting.
