Data Engineer - Google Cloud Platform

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with GCP data services, data ingestion, processing, migration, and reporting using Looker/LookML.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Ingestion, Storage & Processing :

- Acquire, cleanse, and ingest structured and unstructured data into GCP platforms using batch and real-time pipelines.

- Design and manage centralized Data Lakes by integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.

- Build and support data migration pipelines between different systems and cloud services.

- Enable and support secure and reliable data movement across platforms and services.

- Create, maintain, and manage test data to support fully automated testing frameworks.

Reporting & Analytics :

- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance LookML models to enable unified and trusted analytics across business functions.

- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations in Looker that deliver actionable insights and support decision-making.

- Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and scalability of reporting solutions.

- Stay updated with the latest Looker features and best practices and actively share knowledge with the team.

- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services, including :

1. BigQuery

2. Dataflow

3. Data Fusion

4. Dataproc

5. Cloud Composer

6. Pub/Sub

7. Google Cloud Storage (GCS)

- Looker & LookML

- Programming & Tools

- Proficiency in Python, Java, and SQL

- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and pipeline orchestration

- Experience with performance tuning and cost optimization on GCP

Desired Skills (Good to Have) :

- Experience with real-time streaming pipelines

- Exposure to CI/CD for data pipelines

- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
