About the Role :

In this role, you will work with stakeholders to create data solutions that meet analytical demands while applying your design philosophy to ensure our infrastructure scales with business needs. You will be instrumental in establishing a single source of truth for Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Operations.

Responsibilities :

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work independently with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

- Data Modeling: Develop robust data models to identify data gaps and establish raw and analytical layers (metrics, dimensions, business logic).

- Data Pipeline: Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data ingestion and transformation pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Fivetran, or custom Python scripts

- Infrastructure & Optimization: Ingest data from a variety of sources (application DBs, event streams, third-party APIs) into a centralized data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake). You will optimize storage and query performance, including tuning schemas and SQL for large-scale datasets.

- Quality & Collaboration: Implement best practices for data quality, monitoring, and observability (tests, alerts, lineage). Collaborate with Business Analysts to maintain and troubleshoot data models and pipelines to ensure analytical needs are met.

- Documentation: Drive the documentation of data schemas, pipeline architecture, and runbooks.

Qualifications :

- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a Senior Data Engineer building pipelines, developing data models, and improving BI infrastructure, ideally at a SaaS company.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

- Core Stack: Expert-level knowledge of SQL and Python. Expert-level knowledge in Snowflake, Azure, Fivetran, and dbt.

- Orchestration: Hands-on expertise with at least one orchestration framework (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster)

- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, normalized vs. denormalized) and hands-on expertise with at least one orchestration framework (Preferred: Airflow, Prefect, Dagster). Experience building ELT/ETL workflows and integrating APIs/webhooks.

- Analytical Mindset: Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses

- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical problems to non-technical audiences. Comfortable working in an agile environment.
