About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with 4 years of hands-on experience in building, optimizing, and managing data solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, Microsoft SQL, and BI tools such as Sigma (or similar tools like Power BI and Tableau).

The role demands excellent skills in SQL performance tuning, data modeling, and database development. Additionally, the candidate must have proven experience working with scripting tools (PowerShell, Terraform), data platform monitoring, and should hold Microsoft SQL Certifications. The Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring reliable data availability, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Development & Management :

- Perform advanced SQL performance tuning and query optimization to ensure efficient data retrieval and system scalability.

- Implement indexes, partitions, stored procedures, and views to enhance query execution and reporting performance.

Data Modeling & Architecture :

- Ensure data models are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.

- Collaborate with business analysts and architects to translate requirements into data solutions.

ETL Development & Data Extraction :

- Build, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into centralized repositories.

- Develop custom scripts using Python and PowerShell to streamline data processing.

Business Intelligence & Visualization Support :

- Work with tools like Sigma, Power BI, and Tableau to ensure smooth integration and availability of optimized datasets.

- Provide guidance on data visualization best practices.

Data Platform Monitoring & Optimization :

- Implement data technology platform monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams using Terraform and automation tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning.

Collaboration & Project Participation :

- Work as part of cross-functional project teams to deliver data-driven initiatives.

- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.

Experience : 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Database Development roles.

Core Skills :

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server with proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization.

- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools like Sigma, Power BI, or Tableau.

- Strong background in database design, normalization, indexing, and partitioning.

- Knowledge of ETL concepts and tools with practical implementation experience.

- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Terraform) for automation and infrastructure management.

- Experience with Data Technology Platform Monitoring.

Certifications :

- Microsoft SQL Certification(s) highly preferred.

- Prior experience working in data-centric project teams is an advantage
