Job Description :
We're looking for a strong backend engineer to join our Platforms/Supply team and build the core systems that power inventory, capacity, scheduling, and supply-side operations across Cult.fit, the backbone that our fitness centers, classes, trainers, and partner network run on.
NOTE :
We require candidates from Product Industry background only.
This is a senior IC role with real technical ownership you'll help shape our supply platform charter across architecture, execution, and mentorship as the team scales.
What You'll Do :
- Design, build, and scale backend systems using Java and Node.js that power supply-side platforms, inventory, capacity management, scheduling, and catalog systems.
- Own system design and architecture for critical services scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Build APIs and platforms that support trainers, centers, and partner onboarding/operations at scale.
- Drive performance and cost efficiency through smart data modeling, caching, and async processing.
- Ensure production readiness testing, observability, monitoring, and incident ownership.
- Partner closely with Product, Operations, App/Web, Data, and Design to translate supply-side business problems into robust backend solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers through design/code reviews and hands-on tech leadership.
- Use AI tools to boost developer productivity, streamline internal operational workflows, and cut manual effort.
- Help raise the engineering bar across the Platforms org.
What We're Looking For:
- Tech/M. 6 to 8 years of backend engineering experience in production-grade systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js (NestJS/Express).
- Solid grasp of distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
- Experience with relational + NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
- Experience with caching (Redis/Memcached) and event-driven/async processing.
- Proven ownership of complex systems end-to-end.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership mindset.
- Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments.
Good to Have:
- Kafka, Pub/Sub, SQS, or other streaming/messaging systems.
- Experience with capacity planning, scheduling engines, or inventory systems at scale.
- Experience leading technical initiatives across teams.
