Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to play a key role in system architecture, deployment, and ongoing operations of enterprise platforms. The role involves managing and securing multi-OS environments, supporting deployments of mission-critical applications, and working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure system stability, performance, and security.

This position requires deep hands-on expertise across Windows, UNIX/Linux, AIX, networking fundamentals, system hardening, and enterprise infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities :

System Administration & Operations :

- Perform day-to-day system administration across multiple operating systems.

- Monitor and manage system health, availability, and performance of OS and platform services.

- Ensure systems are patched, secure, and compliant with organizational standards.

- Plan, rehearse, document, and execute system upgrades and installations.

Infrastructure & Platform Management :

- Administer and maintain Windows, Linux, UNIX, AIX, and NT-based platforms.

- Install, configure, and manage backup, restore, and failover solutions (NetBackup, Veritas, Legato, etc.).

- Conduct performance tuning and resource optimization across systems and LAN environments.

- Manage and track software licensing and compliance.

Networking & Security :

- Assist with LAN, WAN, and Internet connectivity in collaboration with network teams.

- Support configuration and troubleshooting of routers, firewalls, and load balancers.

- Implement and maintain system and network security controls, including firewall policies and access controls.

Database & Monitoring Support :

- Assist with installation and configuration of databases, including Oracle.

- Apply OS and database patch sets in coordination with application teams.

- Install and configure monitoring tools (e.g., Big Brother or equivalent) to ensure proactive system monitoring.

Collaboration & Compliance :

- Act as a key liaison between internal teams and customers to ensure deployed systems remain current and functional.

- Maintain documentation related to system configurations, upgrades, and operational procedures.

- Ensure compliance with quality, security, health & safety, and organizational policies.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Hands-on experience in systems administration within enterprise environments.

- Strong expertise administering Windows, Linux, UNIX, and AIX operating systems.

- Extensive knowledge of LAN networking concepts (TCP/IP, Internet protocols).

- Experience with HP-UX and Sun UNIX platforms.

- Strong understanding of system security principles, including firewall implementation and OS hardening.

- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery solutions.

- Solid understanding of system administration methodologies and best practices.

- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
