Key Responsibilities :

Database Design and Implementation :

- Design and implement database structures, schemas, and indexes.

- Create and maintain database documentation.

- Ensure data consistency and accuracy.

Database Administration :

- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and optimization.

- Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.

- Troubleshoot database-related issues and resolve problems efficiently.

- Manage user access and permissions.

Database Maintenance :

- Backup, Restores and Replication (CDC, Transaction log shipping, Publisher/Subscriber replication)

- Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata.

- Implement data governance policies.

Performance Tuning :

- Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and hardware adjustments.

- Analyze database usage patterns and identify areas for improvement.

Technology Evaluation :

- Research and evaluate new database technologies and tools.

- Recommend and implement upgrades or migrations as needed.

- Application configuration and support.

Required Knowledge and Skills :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems standalone and AWS RDS (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle).

- Knowledge of database design principles and best practices.

- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

- Understanding of data security and compliance requirements.

- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications in database management systems (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator).

- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

- Experience with data warehousing or business intelligence tools.
