About the Role :

As a Core Network Project Engineer, you will be a critical part of Lebara's network team, responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and go-live of core network projects. Your expertise will be vital in troubleshooting complex network issues, validating technical requirements, and coordinating with various teams to ensure seamless service delivery. This role requires deep knowledge of telecom core network technologies and a strong ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Project Lifecycle Management : Represent the Core Network team from project initiation through to closure, ensuring all network requirements and objectives are met.

- Technical Validation & Collaboration : Work closely with Network and IT Architects to validate core network requirements and designs. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure end-to-end alignment of the project.

- Testing & Fault Resolution : Develop comprehensive test plans and coordinate test execution. You will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and resolving complex core network faults by analyzing logs and traces.

- Trend Analysis & Prevention : Work with cross-functional teams to analyze fault trends and propose preventive solutions to improve network stability and performance.

- Go-Live Support : Provide essential support during Proof of Concepts (POCs), trials, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and go-live phases, which may require flexible working hours, including nights or weekends.

- BAU Support : Provide support for business-as-usual (BAU) activities, including network monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science.

Skills & Experience :

Essential :

- Core Network Expertise : Strong knowledge of CS (Circuit-Switched), PS (Packet-Switched), & IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) Core networks, including hands-on experience in validation, troubleshooting, and fault resolution.

- Data Service Call Flows : Solid understanding of end-to-end data service call flows within a mobile network.

- Telecom Protocols : Hands-on experience with key telecom protocols, including GTP (GPRS Tunnelling Protocol), Gi, Sy, Gx, Gy & Ro, SIGTRAN, and MAP (Mobile Application Part).

- Trace Analysis : Proficiency in using Wireshark for trace analysis and debugging.

Desirable :

- Standards Knowledge : Familiarity with 3GPP, IETF, and GSMA standards and architectures.

- Testing : Knowledge of SIM, eSIM, and BAP testing.

- System Administration : Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server), scripting (PL/SQL, Batch, UNIX), and other relevant system administration tasks.

- Cloud & Tools : Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms, and working knowledge of project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
