Experience, skill and capability :
Strategic Planning :
- Contribute to and execute the global strategy for Core Banking applications to align with overall technology and business objectives.
- Contribute to and maintain the global system roadmap and people strategy to deliver on strategic priorities.
- Drive the rationalization, simplification, and modernization of the global core banking technology stack.
- Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to prioritize and deliver key initiatives as part of a unified Global Banking Technology capability.
Stakeholder Management :
- Accountability for the application/s stability and integrity across time, and their alignment to Private Bank, Corporate & Institutional Banking, For Business & Specialist Bank strategy.
- Deliver timeous technology solutions in response to business needs.
- Manage stakeholder relations and expectations.
Vendor management :
- Managing vendor engagements across Contract Management, Relationship Management, Risk Management and Performance Management.
- Manage all existing SLAs.
- Effectively manage all costs involved with development and associated with SLAs.
Planned Initiative delivery :
- Adherence and alignment to Global Technology operating model in the delivery process.
- Influence the evolution of the operating model change.
- Align day to day tasks to the broader purpose.
- Ensure alignment to governance in tech team and industry where relevant.
People Management :
- Creating a productive and focused team by ensuring clearly define roles and responsibilities with the team.
- Defined, explanation and re-iteration of team goals.
- Eliminate and manage key person dependencies.
- Manage Performance : Provide regular and honest feedback to all
- Subscribe to and embed our culture and values into the team/s.
- Ensure regular individual objectives discussions to align on expectations and the management thereof.
- Empower the team to make decisions quicker and escalate issues and risks appropriately.
IT Practices :
- Ensure the focus on continuously improving the IT practices (Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Testing & Application Management) within the team by aligning with the broader team forums and processes.
- Industry alignment
- Ensure alignment to industry standards in design and operations. The following industry forums are key to ensuring industry alignment: PASA (Payments Association of South Africa), BASA (Banking Association of South Africa), SARB FinTech Forum and BankServ.
General :
- Managing the day-to-day area activities including business as usual changes and daily operations.
- Ensure efficient and effective processes in place.
- Manage and maintain the domain budget ensuring that development costs and activities remain within budget.
