Role Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Firewall Support Engineer to join our dynamic Network Security team.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in managing, troubleshooting, and supporting Fortinet FortiGate and SonicWall firewalls.
The role also involves supporting field engineers, resolving escalations, and directly communicating with customers when required.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and manage Fortinet FortiGate and SonicWall firewalls.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewall policies, VPNs, security profiles, and other features.
- Provide remote support to field engineers for installation and troubleshooting.
- Perform firmware upgrades, apply patches, and conduct regular security hardening.
- Handle L2/L3 escalations, monitor logs, and resolve security incidents in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with OEM/TAC teams for resolution of complex technical issues.
- Communicate with customers regarding status updates, troubleshooting, and closure of issues.
- Ensure adherence to security policies and carry out periodic system health checks.
- Working knowledge of other security platforms such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto Networks, etc is an added advantage.
Required Skills :
- 2 - 5 years of experience in firewall support and administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls.
- Working knowledge of SonicWall firewall administration.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, OSPF).
- Familiarity with IPS/IDS, SIEM, and other network security tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation capabilities.
Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory) :
- Fortinet NSE Level 4/5 or higher.
- SonicWall CSSA/SCSP.
- CCNA Security / CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
