Job Summary :
Comcast's Technology, Product & Experience organization works at the intersection of media and technology. Our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products that transform the customer experience. Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Senior C/C++ Developer with strong expertise in IoT and network device development. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in architecting and developing firmware and middleware layers and mentoring junior engineers. Experience with gRPC will be considered a strong advantage.
Job Description :
Core Skills : C / C++, Git, Socket programing, Build systems, networking protocols, Linux system calls
Key Responsibilities :
- Write robust and maintainable C/C++ code for embedded systems
- Mentor and guide junior developers and participate in design/code reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, hardware, and product teams
- Contribute to performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Create and maintain technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements :
- Deep proficiency in C and C++, with a strong grasp of low-level system concepts
- Good understanding of networking protocols and stacks (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
- Experience with git for version control and gerrit for collaboration
- Familiarity with debugging and profiling tools such as gdb, valgrind
- Experience with multi-threading, synchronization, and memory management
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Solid understanding of Linux system calls, POSIX threads
- Experience with build systems, cross-compilers, and bash scripting
Good To Have :
- Working experience with gRPC, protobuf using C++
- Experience with build systems/technologies such as CMake, Bitbake
- Experience with custom distros developed using Yocto, RDK
- Knowledge of security best practices in embedded systems
Education : Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
