QA Manual Test Engineer

Role Overview :

The QA Manual Test Engineer is a crucial quality assurance role requiring 5+ years of experience focused on ensuring application quality through rigorous manual testing techniques.

Located in Chennai, the incumbent must possess Expert knowledge of QA standards, processes, tools, and methodologies and be proficient in the Agile/Scrum Development Model.

This role requires expertise across functional, regression, integration, and database testing, with a preferred Notice Period of Immediate to 15 Days.

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced QA Manual Test Engineer (5+ years experience) with mandatory expertise in Manual Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, and Integration Testing.

The ideal candidate must have expert knowledge of QA standards and processes within an Agile/Scrum model.

Key responsibilities include planning, designing, scripting, and executing manual test cases for functional and UI testing, performing Database Testing using scripts, analyzing Metrics, and utilizing Bug/Task management tools like Jira.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to join immediately or within 15 days are required.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :

Manual Testing and Test Execution :

- Demonstrate mandatory experience in Manual Testing, including Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, and Integration Testing.

- Experience in functional, UI, Performance and Regression testing with the ability to plan, design, script, and execute manual test cases.

- Apply Expert knowledge of QA standards, processes, tools, and methodologies across the entire software test lifecycle.

- Perform Black Box Testing techniques to validate functionality against requirements.

Process, Tools, and Reporting :

- Experience with Quality processes in Agile/Scrum Development Model, participating actively in ceremonies and sprint planning.

- Maintain Awareness on Bug/Task management tools like Jira for logging, tracking, and managing defects and tasks.

- Utilize Good expertise on MS Excel for test data preparation, tracking, and test status reporting.

- Demonstrate Exposure with continuous Integration cycle and familiarity with its impact on testing.

- Possess Experience on Metrics and Statistical Analysis to generate and report on key QA performance indicators (e.

- Maintain Awareness on Version control systems like Git for documentation and collaboration.

Database and System Validation :

- Mandatory Experience in Database testing and proficiency in executing database scripts (SQL) for data validation, integrity checks, and back-end testing.

- Perform comprehensive API Testing to validate business logic and data exchange at the service layer.

- Demonstrate Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work well with cross-functional teams.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : 5+ Years in Quality Assurance.

- Core Testing : Mandatory Manual Testing, Smoke Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, Functional Testing, and API Testing.

- Methodology : Expert knowledge of QA standards, processes, tools, and methodologies and Experience with Quality processes in Agile/Scrum Development Model.

- Technical : Experience in Database testing (executing scripts) and Awareness on Bug/Task management tools like Jira.

- Logistics : Notice Period - Immediate to 15 Days.

Preferred Skills :

- Advanced experience with complex SQL queries for back-end validation.

- Familiarity with performance testing concepts (though manual focus is primary).

- Experience writing test plans and test strategy documents.
