Role : Data Scientist

Job Summary :

Colan Infotech is seeking a skilled and passionate Data Scientist with 4+ years of experience to join our team in Chennai or Bangalore. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in statistical analysis, classical machine learning, and is highly proficient in Python. This role focuses on translating complex data findings into actionable business insights, building production-ready ML models, and leveraging expertise in Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and cutting-edge Generative AI (Gen AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to drive innovation across various business units.

Core Responsibilities :

Statistical Modeling and Analysis :

- Apply proficiency in hypothesis testing, regression, clustering, and experimental design to validate business assumptions and data quality.

- Develop, train, and validate Classical ML models for critical business applications, including regression, classification, time series forecasting, and anomaly detection.

AI/ML Solution Development (Gen AI & NLP) :

- Design and implement complex Machine Learning solutions using supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.

- Focus on advanced areas including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and leveraging expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI techniques.

- Utilize frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch for building, training, and deploying Deep Learning models.

Programming and Data Engineering :

- Demonstrate expertise in Python for all stages of the data science lifecycle, leveraging libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.

- Perform extensive Data Wrangling: cleaning, transforming, and structuring raw data efficiently using SQL, Spark, or similar big data tools.

- Work with Big Data Technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to handle and process large-scale datasets.

Deployment and MLOps :

- Support the process of model deployment into production environments, ensuring scalability and performance.

- Leverage secondary skills in Software Engineering (CI/CD, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes) to operationalize ML models.

- Design and analyze results of business experiments using A/B Testing methodologies.

Communication and Strategy :

- Translate complex technical findings and model outcomes into clear, actionable business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

- Create impactful Data Visualization reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries to effectively communicate insights.

Primary Skills :

- Statistical Analysis & Modeling : Proficiency in hypothesis testing, regression, clustering, and experimental design. Classical ML models for regression, classification, time series and anomaly detection.

- Programming : Expertise in Python for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).

- Machine Learning : Experience with supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, and model deployment (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

- Data Wrangling : Cleaning, transforming, and structuring raw data using SQL, Spark, or similar tools.

- Data Visualization : Ability to communicate insights via tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn.

- Big Data Technologies : Familiarity with Spark and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Communication : Translating technical findings into actionable business recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.

Secondary Skills :

- Deep Learning : Knowledge of neural networks, generative AI or agentic frameworks.

- A/B Testing : Designing and analyzing results of experiments.

- Software Engineering : Understanding of CI/CD, APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
