Role : Cloud Native Platform Architect
Serves as the technical anchor for Verisys modernization journey. Defines and evolves the platform architecture with a strong focus on healthcare provider data pipelines, provider data lifecycle management, credentialing, attestation, and compliance-driven workflows. Leads workshops and discovery sessions to align platform modernization with client priorities, covering infrastructure blueprinting, automation, cost optimization, and workflow/data architecture reviews.
Key Responsibilities :
- Architecture Leadership - Define and evolve the cloud-native platform architecture to enable scalability, security, and modernization.
- Platform Modernization - Lead the transformation of monolithic systems into microservices-based, event-driven, and containerized architectures on AWS.
- API & Integration Strategy - Design and govern API-first and data integration patterns using REST, gRPC, and asynchronous eventing.
- Infrastructure Automation - Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for repeatable and automated provisioning.
- DevOps & CI/CD Enablement - Establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines supporting secure, automated deployments.
- Observability & Reliability - Define logging, tracing, and monitoring standards using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana; ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
- Security & Compliance by Design - Integrate IAM, encryption, and configuration compliance (Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub) into all platform layers.
- Cost Optimization (FinOps) - Apply FinOps principles for efficient cloud usage, including tagging, scaling, and right-sizing with AWS Compute Optimizer and Savings Plans.
- Collaboration & Mentorship - Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver modernization goals; mentor engineers in cloud-native architecture best practices.
Required Technical Skills :
Experience Level :
- 12 - 15+ years in enterprise and platform architecture, with healthcare data experience preferred.
- Proven track record with AWS as the primary cloud platform (design, migration, modernization, and cost optimization).
- Exposure to Azure and GCP for hybrid/multi-cloud use cases.
Languages / Frameworks :
- Proficiency in Java/.NET (C#) for backend and microservice development.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot (Java) /ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+.
- Strong understanding and designing of microservices, asynchronous programming, and API lifecycle management).
Core Cloud & Architecture :
- Deep expertise with AWS services: EC2, EKS, ECS Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, EventBridge, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, CloudFront.
- Proven experience architecting microservices, event-driven, and serverless solutions on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of container orchestration (EKS / ECS), networking, and service discovery (Cloud Map, App Mesh).
- Skilled in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Experience implementing GitOps and automated deployments (CodePipeline, Argo CD, GitHub Actions).
Data & Integration :
- Experience designing data pipelines using AWS Glue.
- Knowledge of data lake and governance frameworks (S3, Lake Formation, Glue Data Catalog, Athena).
- Familiarity with ETL orchestration (Airflow / Step Functions) and change data capture (CDC) patterns (Debezium).
Security, Observability & FinOps :
- Expertise in IAM, KMS, VPC security, and compliance automation
- Experience with CloudWatch/ Prometheus/Grafana for observability and telemetry.
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles for AWS cost governance and optimization.
Preferred / Nice to Have :
- Exposure to regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, or government).
- AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional) preferred.
