Cloud Engineer

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with a strong background in VMware and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE) to support a high-impact cloud migration initiative. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in VMware on-prem to GCVE migrations, network and storage architecture, and stakeholder engagement.

This is a contract position suitable for professionals with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, solution architecture, and customer-facing roles.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead or support VMware on-prem to GCVE migration projects, ensuring seamless transition of infrastructure and services

- Collaborate with customer technical leads, client managers, and partners to plan and execute cloud migration projects

- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them through design decisions, implementation plans, and risk mitigation strategies

- Design solution architectures and oversee the deployment of cloud-based virtualized infrastructure tailored to customer requirements

- Provide expert guidance on VMware architecture, network configuration, storage optimization, and security best practices in GCVE environments

- Work cross-functionally with internal engineering teams to incorporate lessons learned and best practices into standardized methodologies

- Interact with sales teams, partners, and stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, and timelines

- Advocate for customer needs by providing field feedback to influence product features and improvements

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6 to 9 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, with a focus on VMware technologies and Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE)

- Strong understanding of VMware on-premises architecture and cloud migration strategies

- Hands-on experience with network configuration, storage design, and cloud security best practices

- Proven experience in stakeholder management and customer engagement in technical projects

- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its networking components

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical projects

Preferred Qualifications :

- Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, VMware Engine Specialist)

- Experience with large-scale enterprise migrations to the cloud

- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Deployment Manager, etc.) is a plus
