Job Title : Cloud Data Platform Engineer
Experience : 6-12 Years
Location : Pan India / Hybrid (as per business requirement)
Role Summary :
We are hiring experienced Cloud Data Platform Engineers with strong hands-on expertise in Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric. This is a pure engineering role focused on architecting, building, automating, and operating scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient enterprise data platforms.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Azure data services, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, platform reliability (SRE), and FinOps cost governance. This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, operational excellence mindset, and platform ownership capability.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Cloud Data Platform Engineering
- Design, build, and manage Azure-based modern data platforms.
- Administer and optimize Azure data services including ADLS, ADF, Synapse, Key Vault, Virtual Networks, and networking components.
- Configure and manage Databricks environments (clusters, jobs, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
- Deploy and operate Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, and Warehouses.
2. Infrastructure as Code & Automation :
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or Bicep.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Automate platform provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Ensure repeatable, scalable, and standardized platform deployments.
3. Platform Reliability & SRE Practices :
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks.
- Define SLAs, SLOs, and reliability metrics.
- Drive incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive measures.
- Improve platform resilience, availability, and performance.
4. Security & Governance :
- Implement enterprise-grade security controls including RBAC, ACLs, and Unity Catalog governance.
- Enforce zero-trust principles and secure network architecture.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Manage secrets and identity securely using Azure Key Vault.
5. FinOps & Cost Optimization :
- Monitor and optimize cloud spend across Azure and Databricks environments.
- Implement cost allocation, tagging strategies, and budgeting frameworks.
- Drive capacity planning and performance-cost optimization strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
- 6-12 years of experience in Cloud Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, DataOps, or SRE roles.
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Services (ADLS, ADF, Synapse, Networking, Security).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, cluster optimization).
- Experience deploying and managing Microsoft Fabric workloads.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform or Bicep for infrastructure automation.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Programming skills in Python, SQL, PySpark, and scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
- Experience implementing SRE practices and monitoring frameworks.
- Exposure to FinOps practices and cost optimization strategies.
Nice to Have :
- Azure / Databricks / DevOps / FinOps certifications.
- Experience in regulated industries such as BFSI, Healthcare, or Retail.
- Understanding of zero-trust architecture and enterprise security frameworks.
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
