Job Description

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Automation Architect to design and drive scalable infrastructure and cloud automation solutions across enterprise environments. The role combines automation engineering, AWS architecture, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, security automation, and CI/CD.

You will be responsible for creating reusable automation frameworks, improving operational efficiency, and enabling reliable self-service infrastructure across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Automation Engineering :

- Design and maintain reusable Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for enterprise infrastructure.

- Automate operating system patching, configuration management, drift correction, security controls, and compliance activities.

- Build automation that works across AWS, Azure, VMware, and API-driven environments.

- Integrate Ansible workflows with Terraform for automated post-provisioning activities.

AWS Automation :

- Design event-driven automation using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, S3, and Systems Manager.

- Develop automation for multi-account AWS environments and cross-account operations.

- Apply appropriate IAM controls and account-level security boundaries.

- Ensure cloud automation follows established security and architecture practices, including CIS, NIST, and AWS Well-Architected principles.

Kubernetes & Platform Automation :

- Create and manage reusable Helm charts for Kubernetes environments.

- Handle application and infrastructure deployment activities including upgrades, rollbacks, and controlled releases.

- Implement GitOps-based deployment models using Argo CD, Flux, or similar platforms.

- Automate Kubernetes namespaces, RBAC, secrets, and network policies.

Infrastructure as Code :

- Develop modular and version-controlled Terraform components for AWS infrastructure.

- Cover areas such as networking, IAM, EKS, ECS, RDS, and security configurations.

- Build CI/CD workflows through GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.

- Incorporate infrastructure validation, linting, drift monitoring, security checks, and policy controls into deployment pipelines.

Security & Compliance :

- Automate infrastructure hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance checks.

- Implement security automation around CyberArk, AWS Secrets Manager, and SSM Parameter Store.

- Support certificate provisioning, renewal, rotation, and lifecycle automation.

- Implement policy-driven infrastructure controls using tools such as OPA, Gatekeeper, or Conftest.

Monitoring & Self-Healing :

- Connect automation workflows with monitoring platforms such as New Relic and LogicMonitor.

- Develop automated remediation processes based on infrastructure and application telemetry.

- Convert manual operational procedures into automated diagnostic and recovery workflows.

- Help reduce incident resolution time through intelligent, repeatable remediation.

ITSM & Operational Integration :

- Integrate automation with ITSM platforms for ticket creation, approvals, change workflows, and CMDB updates.

- Translate operational runbooks into automated workflows aligned with enterprise processes.

Required Experience & Skills :

- 8+ years of overall IT experience with at least 6 years of continuous hands-on experience in automation engineering, automation architecture, or infrastructure automation.

- Proven experience designing automation frameworks and delivering enterprise-scale automation initiatives.

- Strong expertise in Ansible and Terraform.

- Hands-on experience creating reusable Terraform modules and integrating IaC with CI/CD.

- Strong knowledge of AWS architecture, including serverless, event-driven services, IAM, and multi-account environments.

- Practical Kubernetes experience with Helm and GitOps platforms.

- Strong scripting capability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

- Experience implementing infrastructure security, compliance, hardening, and remediation automation.

- Understanding of production-grade CI/CD practices and infrastructure testing.

- Ability to take automation initiatives from architecture and design through implementation and operational adoption.

Additional Skills :

Experience with the following will be an advantage :

- OPA, Gatekeeper, Conftest

- Molecule, Terratest, Checkov, tfsec

- Multi-account AWS automation

- Istio or Linkerd

- SymphonyAI or other enterprise ITSM platforms

- CMDB and automated change-management workflows

- Monitoring-driven remediation and self-healing infrastructure

What Youll Bring :

We are looking for someone who can think beyond individual scripts and build scalable, reusable automation platforms. The right candidate should be comfortable working across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security, Kubernetes, and enterprise operations while driving automation standards and architectural best practices.
