Celsior Technologies - Mainframe Consultant - AS400/DB2

Key Objectives :

- Lead the architecture, design, and development efforts to modernize legacy IBM AS400 green-screen applications into modern, responsive web applications.

- Develop and validate robust architectural patterns and integration strategies through successful delivery of a Proof of Concept (POC).

- Drive technical excellence and establish best practices for full-stack development, ensuring seamless integration with existing IBM i-series systems and DB2 databases.

Key Responsibilities :

- Evaluate legacy AS400 code and green-screen applications, translating them into modern, maintainable web applications.

- Develop comprehensive integration strategies to interact seamlessly with AS400 backend data, business logic, and DB2 databases.

- Guide the team in implementing efficient and scalable front-end solutions using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, React).

- Implement secure, reliable middleware using technologies such as Node.js or Golang, and REST APIs to bridge modern front-end applications with legacy backend systems.

- Conduct thorough code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure adherence to architectural best practices.

- Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA teams, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical requirements and project milestones.

- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level software engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical growth.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong knowledge of IBM DB2 and proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and data modeling.

- Expertise in developing modern front-end applications using JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, Angular, or React.

- Solid experience with middleware and backend development using Node.js /Golang, and integration via RESTful services.

- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.

- Demonstrated ability to build scalable architecture patterns for integrating legacy systems with modern applications.

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
