CDW - Lead DevOps Engineer - Azure Platform

Responsibilities:.

- Build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure in Azure using scripting and Infrastructure -as-Code tools.

- Improve cost and efficiency of existing infrastructure in Azure using auto-scaling and dynamic provisioning of resources.

- Analyze system performance, resource utilization and troubleshoot any issues.

- Plan and execute large scale on-prem to Azure migrations using Lift-and-Shift and Re-platform methods.

- Use automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and reliability of migration process.

- Implement repeatable solutions and automation for commonly faced tasks and problems.

- Implement and maintain network connectivity between within Azure and with on-prem network.

- Build golden AMIs periodically based on the requirements.

- Implement and maintain security controls as per client's requirements.

- Keep applications and infrastructure in cloud and on-premises environment up to date by applying latest updates and patches.

- Scan infrastructure and applications periodically to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and issues.

- Create and maintain documentation/runbooks for system configuration, processes and procedures to efficiently operate a system.

Qualifications and Skills :

- B.S degree in Computer Science or equivalent through combination of education and work experience.

- 8+ years of engineering experience with 4+ years in managing infrastructure in Azure.

- Nice to have Azure certification.

- Strong Expertise with Azure services like db, function apps, storage, etc.

- Nice to have experience in deploying, maintaining SQL server and azure cosmos.

- Very good experience with IaC using terraform, Terraform Modules, etc.

Expertise in Azure devops pipelines, Shell Scripts, AKS, ISTIO, Service Mesh implementation, Kubernetes, Docker image creation, Manifests, BitBucket Pipelines, etc.

- Expertise in Linux and Windows administration.

- An understanding of core network protocols and services (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST/SOAP, FTPS/SFTP, DNS, SSL, firewalls, load balancers).

- Good scripting skills using python and bash.

- Strong understanding of Azure Best Practices to host secure and scalable workloads in multi-account Azure Landing Zone and Hybrid environments.

- Experience with configuration Management tools (Salt/Puppet/Chef).

- Experience troubleshooting security, performance and availability issues and monitoring workloads running in Azure.
