Capgemini - Senior Python Developer - Flask/Django

Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Python Developer with 6 - 12 years of hands-on experience building robust, scalable backend services and distributed systems. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of high-performance APIs, data pipelines, and microservices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile environment, driving technical excellence from initial design through deployment and observability.

Key Responsibilities :

- Architecture & Development : Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure backend services and microservices using Python.

- API Engineering : Architect and implement high-performance RESTful APIs and GraphQL schemas, integrating external third-party services and downstream systems using JSON-based payloads.

- Database Design & Management : Model, optimize, and manage NoSQL databases (primarily MongoDB) as well as relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MSSQL) for query performance and data integrity.

- System Administration & Tooling : Develop, deploy, and debug applications directly in Linux/Unix environments.

- Code Quality & Mentorship : Drive clean architecture, comprehensive unit/integration testing, and code reviews across Git-based workflows.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with product managers, QA, and DevOps engineers within an Agile/Scrum framework to deliver sprint commitments predictably.

Required Technical Skills :

- Experience : 6 - 12 years of professional software engineering experience primarily using Python.

- Framework Expertise : Deep practical experience with core Python web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

- API Technologies : Expertise in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and complex JSON data serialization.

- Databases : Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB (aggregation, indexing) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) with ORM/ODM libraries.

- Environment & Version Control : Proficiency in Linux environments and Git workflows.

- Process & Delivery : Well-versed in Agile/Scrum methodologies and test-driven development.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Containerization & Orchestration : Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.

- CI/CD : Experience with Jenkins or similar platforms.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Ansible or Terraform.

- Observability & Telemetry : Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, or Datadog.

Preferred Soft Skills :

- Strong technical communication skills and mentorship abilities.

- Pragmatic problem-solver comfortable owning features end-to-end.
