Job Description

Senior Solution Architect Digital Insurance Transformation

Location : Bangalore / Pune / Hyderabad / Gurgaon / Chennai / Mumbai

Experience : 10+ Years

Role Purpose :

As a Senior Solution Architect, you will be a strategic leader in our global architecture practice, specifically focused on revolutionizing our customer engagement through Cloud-native and Digital-first technologies. You will be the technical visionary responsible for designing end-to-end solutions that modernize our insurance product offerings.

Your role is to bridge the gap between complex insurance business requirements and high-performance, resilient technology stacks, ensuring that every architectural decision drives long-term agility and measurable business value.

Responsibilities :

- Design and lead the implementation of end-to-end solution architectures that align with our Digital and Cloud-first strategy, ensuring seamless integration across the insurance value chain (Policy, Claims, Billing).

- Architect high-availability, secure, and resilient platforms that meet stringent performance benchmarks for real-time customer engagement and high-volume transaction processing.

- Balance long-term strategic architectural goals with immediate project delivery needs, ensuring that short-term tactical decisions do not create insurmountable technical debt.

- Act as a key consultant during the delivery planning phase, providing accurate technical estimations, resource requirements, and risk assessments to ensure project feasibility.

- Define and maintain the transition roadmap from legacy monolithic systems to modern, microservices-based "Target State" architectures.

- Drive the promotion and adoption of architecture standards and best practices across the global organization, mentoring engineering teams on design patterns and cloud-native principles.

- Lead technical discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops to translate complex insurance scenarios into scalable technical blueprints.

- Conduct rigorous architectural reviews and governance to ensure solutions adhere to global security, compliance (IRDAI/GDPR), and performance standards.

- Evaluate and select third-party vendors and emerging technologies (InsurTech) that can be integrated into the ecosystem to accelerate innovation.

- Collaborate with Agile squads to ensure the technical integrity of the solution is maintained throughout the iterative development lifecycle.

Technical Requirements :

- Proven expertise in architecting large-scale, distributed systems using Cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) within the financial services or insurance domain.

- Deep knowledge of integration patterns, including Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and message-oriented middleware (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

- Strong understanding of modern frontend architectures (React, Angular, or Flutter) to support omnichannel customer engagement strategies.

- Mastery of database design across RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) to handle diverse insurance data structures.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, for managing microservices at scale.

- Proficiency in security architecture, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and data encryption standards relevant to the insurance industry.

- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), and automated testing frameworks.

Preferred Skills :

- Deep domain specialism in Life, General, or Health Insurance, including familiarity with core platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, or SAP for Insurance.

- Experience in implementing AI/ML models for insurance-specific use cases such as automated underwriting, fraud detection, or claims triage.

- Understanding of the "Insurance-as-a-Service" model and the technical requirements for open API ecosystems and partnership integrations.

- TOGAF or AWS/Azure Solutions Architect Professional certification is highly desirable.

- Knowledge of serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) to optimize operational costs and scalability.

- Previous experience leading architectural transformation in a global, multi-region environment with a focus on localization and regulatory compliance.

- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and lead complex technical discussions across cross-functional teams.
