Job Summary :

- Responsible for the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive quality assurance and testing strategies specifically for the Murex trading and risk management platform.

- Ensure the stability, functional correctness, performance, and regulatory compliance of Murex modules across various capital markets products and workflows.

- Collaborate closely with development, business analysis, and operations teams to minimize system defects and ensure high-quality solution delivery within the Investment Banking and Financial Technology domain.

Core Responsibilities :

Murex Platform Testing :

- Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios for various Murex modules, including Front Office (e.g., pricing, deal capture), Middle Office (e.g., risk valuation, P&L, trade confirmation), and Back Office (e.g., settlement, accounting interfaces).

- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Murex upgrades, patches, and custom developments.

- Validate financial calculations, market data integration, regulatory reporting output, and trade lifecycle events within the Murex environment.

Technical Testing and Environment Management :

- Utilize SQL extensively to query relational databases, validating data integrity, reconciliation results, and trade population counts across Murex and downstream systems.

- Develop and execute scripts using Unix/Linux shell commands for file manipulation, log analysis, system monitoring, and batch job testing within the Murex environment.

- Perform load and performance testing for Murex processes, identifying bottlenecks in trade throughput, risk calculation times, and end-of-day batch processing efficiency.

Quality Assurance and Defect Management :

- Analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create robust, technically sound test plans.

- Document, prioritize, and track defects using standard test management tools (e.g., Mercury, HP ALM, Jira), collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.

- Create and maintain comprehensive test artifacts, including test data sets, test matrices, and final test summary reports.

Domain and Collaboration :

- Apply deep knowledge of the Capital Markets domain, including derivatives (FX, Rates, Commodities), fixed income, equities, and associated trading applications.

- Collaborate effectively with Application Managers, Database Administrators (DBAs), and System Administrators to manage test environments, database refreshes, and Murex configuration changes.

Required Technical Skills and Experience :

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance (QA), Test Engineering, and/or development roles.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct, hands-on testing experience within the Murex or comparable Treasury/Capital Markets platform (e.g., Summit, Calypso).

- Advanced proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation and reconciliation in large financial datasets.

- Solid working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, including scripting and command-line execution for batch testing and log file analysis.

- Extensive experience within the financial technology sector, demonstrating strong knowledge of Investment Banking, Portfolio Accounting Systems, and the trade life cycle.

- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel for test data manipulation, reconciliation, and reporting.

- Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

- Experience using industry-standard software test suites, such as HP Quality Center (Mercury) or other comparable enterprise testing platforms.

- Functional knowledge of regulatory reporting standards (e.g., Basel, Dodd-Frank, EMIR) and how they are implemented within Murex.

- Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, Selenium, proprietary Murex automation tools) to enhance regression testing cycles.

- Working experience with cloud-based Murex implementations or modern deployment methodologies.
