Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly experienced and pragmatic Data Modeler with over 12 years of expertise, particularly within the Financial Services sector. You'll be crucial in designing and implementing clean, effective data management and modeling solutions, ideally within a Treasury/Finance function or front office environment. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills to influence stakeholders, and a proven track record in a large, global banking setting.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Bring a minimum of 10 years' experience in data management and modeling solutions as a Data Modeler within the Financial Services sector, with a preference for Treasury/Finance or front office environments.

- Design robust data modeling solutions (conceptual, logical, and application/messaging), including corresponding phasing, transitions, and migrations as necessary.

- Understand and promote the principle of managing 'data as a product (asset)' across enterprise domains and technology landscapes.

- Possess a strong understanding of architectural domains, including business, data, application, and technology.

- Influence and present complex data models and concepts effectively to both technology and business stakeholders through strong communication skills.

- Collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment, partnering with data modelers from other domains to build and integrate shared, reusable data assets.

- Work proficiently within Agile and Scrum methodologies in a large, scalable Agile environment, including active participation and progress reporting in daily standups.

- Apply knowledge of data standards, data governance, data strategy, and data lineage.

- Utilize knowledge of reference/master data management principles.

- Address and understand issue and data quality management, prioritization, business case development, remediation planning, and tactical/strategic solution delivery.

- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work unsupervised and take ownership of key deliverables.

Required Qualifications :

- Minimum of 10 years' experience in data management and modeling solutions as a Data Modeler within the Financial Services sector, preferably in a Treasury/Finance function or related front office environment.

- Proven track record working in a large and global banking environment is desirable.

- Demonstrated experience in designing data modeling solutions (conceptual, logical, and application/messaging).

- Good understanding of the 'data as a product (asset)' principle and architectural domains (business, data, application, and technology).

- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and present data models and concepts to technology and business stakeholders.

- Good collaboration skills, with experience achieving outcomes in a matrixed environment.

- Experience working with Agile and Scrum in a large scalable Agile environment.

- Results-oriented with the ability to produce solutions that deliver organizational benefit.

- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work unsupervised and take ownership for key deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Knowledge of data standards, data governance, data strategy, and data lineage.

- Knowledge of reference/master data management.

- Exposure to cloud solutions implemented in GCP, AWS, or Azure, and/or exposure to big data solutions.

- Experience working with leading data modeling tools such as Visual Paradigm, ERwin, PowerDesigner, ER Studio, etc.

- Knowledge of data modeling standards and technical documentation using Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Unified Modeling Language (UML), or BIAN.

- Exposure to data governance initiatives such as lineage, masking, retention policy, and data quality.

- Exposure to ETL architectures and tools, including data virtualization and integration with APIs.
