Business/Data Quality Analyst HR Technology (Workday Focus)

Role Overview :

This is a critical 12-Month Contract role for a Business/Data Quality Analyst with a strong background in HR Technology and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in data quality management or business analysis.

The location is Remote, with preference given to candidates based in Pune, Mumbai, or Bangalore, India.

The roles primary focus is to ensure data integrity, compliance, and quality across HR systems, leveraging mandatory Workday HRIS systems experience.

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly analytical and process-driven Business/Data Quality Analyst (5+ years experience) with mandatory 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HRIS systems. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in data quality frameworks, rule discovery, and validation processes with a solid understanding of HR data structures and compliance. Key responsibilities include defining and enforcing data standards, managing requirements through UAT and go-live phases, developing quality measurement frameworks, and applying deep HR domain knowledge to system configurations and integrations.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Deliverables :

Data Quality & Governance Engineering :

- Discover and document precise business rules and data standards for critical HR processes (e.g., hire-to-retire, compensation changes).

- Analyze data connections and dependencies across systems (inbound/outbound integrations) to ensure accuracy and consistency of master data elements.

- Build and maintain a repeatable cycle for validating and enforcing data quality rules, often leveraging automation or native HRIS governance features.

- Skilled in identifying root causes of data issues, defining clear remediation standards, and implementing scalable, sustainable solutions.

- Apply Strong proficiency in data quality frameworks, rule discovery, and validation processes.

HRIS Expertise and Configuration :

- Work extensively with Workday HRIS systems (3+ years mandatory experience) to manage data flows, integrations, and reporting requirements.

- Apply Solid understanding of HR data structures, terminology, and compliance requirements (e.g., PII, GDPR, local labor laws) to system configurations.

- Provide functional support for Workday data integrations (e.g., EIBs, Core Connectors) and ensure data mapping integrity.

Stakeholder Engagement and Project Lifecycle :

- Conduct technical discovery sessions and collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to elicit and finalize requirements for system enhancements and new projects.

- Manage requirements through UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and go-live phases, ensuring all test cases adequately cover data quality and business rule validation.

- Proven track record managing projects through discovery, UAT, and go-live phases.

- Ability to lead workshops, document detailed requirements (BRDs/FRDs), and collaborate effectively with technical HRIS and IT teams.

Measurement & Scaling :

- Develop quantitative frameworks for measuring data quality and system performance (e.g., data defect rates, completeness metrics, integration throughput).

- Support scaling of HR technology solutions and data governance models across the entire organization.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : 5+ years in business analysis or data quality management.

- HRIS Expertise : 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HRIS systems, including data integrations and reporting.

- Data Quality : Strong proficiency in data quality frameworks, rule discovery, and validation processes.

- Domain Knowledge : Solid understanding of HR data structures, terminology, and compliance requirements.

- Project Management : Proven track record managing projects through discovery, UAT, and go-live phases.

- Analytical : Skilled in identifying data issues, defining standards, and implementing scalable solutions.

Preferred Skills :

- Certification in a relevant area (e.g., Workday Pro, CBAP, DAMA CDMP).

- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for building data quality scorecards.

- Direct experience with Python/SQL for complex data extraction and analysis.

- Exposure to other HR technology platforms (e.g., ATS, LMS) and their data integration points.
