Role Description :

The current opportunity is for the position of Data Engineer. The right candidate shall be part of our technology team, focusing on analyzing large datasets, developing automation solutions, data extraction, and web scraping to identify actionable investment ideas and drive superior financial outcomes. He or She will transform raw data into high-impact insights, directly shaping our public equity investment strategy and positioning the firm at the forefront of data-driven investing.

Core responsibilities :

- Investment Process Innovation : Collaborate closely with CIO and VPs to identify investment opportunities by analyzing and summarizing large datasets.

- Data Extraction and Web Scraping : Lead the development of web scraping solutions to collect data from websites, databases, APIs and unstructured sources. Design and optimize ETL pipelines to transform raw data into actionable insights that lead to investment idea generation.

- Database Maintenance : Build and maintain databases (SQL/Excel) to support automation and data extraction across industries like Banking, Auto, Pharma etc. to empower investment research.

- Automation : Take complete ownership of developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to generate reports and dashboards.

Profile Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering or a related field from IIT/NIT/BITS/DTU etc.

- 1-3 years of work experience in programming, with a focus on handling large datasets, automation, data extraction or web scraping. Knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms is a plus.

- Demonstrated experience in Python (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, Requests etc.) and SQL.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication skills.

- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
