Job Description:

Role: Senior BMC CMDB Engineer

Work Location: One Elpro Park, Pune, Maharashtra.

Work mode: Hybrid (flexible).

Total Experience: 4+ Years of professional experience in BMC CMDB.

Role Summary:

Own the CMDB data model and governance defining how data from Discovery and other sources is structured, reconciled, and normalized so it's trustworthy for AIOps, ITSM, and service topology use cases.

Must-Have Skills:

- CMDB architecture: data model design, CI classes, relationships.

- Reconciliation rule design and ownership (multi-source precedence, conflict resolution).

- Data normalization and data quality governance.

- Service topology construction and BSM/service modeling concepts.

- Working knowledge of BMC Discovery output structure (as a consumer, not the discovery engineer).

Good-to-Have Skills:

- Exposure to BMC Helix AIOps or Helix ITSM as a data consumer/integration partner.

- Scripting (Python/Shell) for data validation or reconciliation automation.

- CMDB-related BMC certifications.

- ITIL process familiarity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and govern the CMDB data model: CI classes, attributes, relationships.

- Define and own reconciliation rules including precedence when Discovery and other data sources conflict.

- Set normalization standards to ensure data quality and consistency.

- Build and validate accurate service topology for downstream AIOps consumption.

- Apply service modeling (BSM) principles to represent business services and dependencies.

- Partner with the Discovery Engineer to align scan output with the target data model.

- Partner with the AIOps Engineer to ensure topology/CMDB data meets event-correlation requirements.

- Monitor and report on CMDB data quality/health over time.
