BOM Analyst

Location : Pune, Maharashtra (On-site).

Job Summary :

We are looking for an experienced BOM Analyst to manage and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, product configurations, and engineering change activities throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Engineering BOM (EBOM), Manufacturing BOM (MBOM), Product Data Management (PDM), PLM/ERP systems, and Configuration Management within the automotive or manufacturing domain. This role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure BOM accuracy, product data integrity, and seamless implementation of engineering changes.

Key Responsibilities :

BOM Management & Product Data Governance :

- Create, maintain, validate, and manage Engineering BOMs (EBOM) and Manufacturing BOMs (MBOM).

- Ensure BOM accuracy, completeness, and consistency across PLM and ERP systems.

- Manage product structures, material master data, and configuration records.

- Perform BOM analysis, reporting, and data validation activities.

- Investigate and resolve BOM discrepancies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Configuration Management :

- Manage product configurations and variant structures throughout the product lifecycle.

- Maintain configuration rules and ensure alignment with engineering and manufacturing requirements.

- Support customer-specific and market-specific product configurations.

- Coordinate configuration updates while ensuring proper documentation and traceability.

Engineering Change Management :

- Coordinate Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).

- Evaluate change impacts and implement BOM updates.

- Maintain complete traceability and compliance of engineering changes.

- Participate in change review meetings and support change implementation activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams.

- Act as the primary point of contact for BOM and configuration-related queries.

- Support issue resolution involving product structures, configurations, and product data.

- Ensure alignment between product development and manufacturing processes.

Process Improvement & Digitalization :

- Identify opportunities to improve BOM governance and product data management processes.

- Support automation, digitalization, and system enhancement initiatives.

- Contribute to process standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement programs.

Required Skills :

- 5 - 8 years of experience in BOM Management, Product Data Management, or Configuration Management.

- Hands-on experience creating and managing Engineering BOM (EBOM) and Manufacturing BOM (MBOM).

- Experience with PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, ENOVIA, SAP, Oracle, or similar).

- Strong understanding of :

1. Product Structures.

2. Configuration Management.

3. Engineering Change Management (ECR/ECO/ECN).

4. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

- Experience working in automotive, manufacturing, or engineering environments.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

- Exposure to automation, digitalization, and process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
