Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Hybrid Cloud Architect & SRE to lead and execute complex cloud-to-hybrid infrastructure transformations.

This role combines architectural ownership with hands-on SRE execution. You will design hybrid architectures, migrate live production workloads, and operate unified systems spanning hyperscale cloud and bare metal environments.

This is not a cloud-only role and not a junior SRE position. You will work directly on live production systems where cost, reliability, and downtime matter.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Architecture & Strategy :

- Design hybrid cloud architectures combining hyperscale cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) with bare metal, private cloud, or colocation environments

- Classify workloads based on behavior (steady-state vs spiky, stateful vs stateless, latency sensitivity)

- Decide what stays in cloud, what moves out, and why with clear economic justification

- Define rollback, DR, and failover strategies for all migrations

2. SRE & Platform Engineering :

- Build and operate Kubernetes clusters across cloud and non-cloud environments

- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent

- Design CI/CD pipelines that work consistently across hybrid environments

- Ensure high availability, observability, and incident readiness.

- Own production reliability during and after migrations.

3. Migration Execution :

- Lead zero-downtime migrations of production workloads

- Replatform applications away from cloud-managed services where required

- Coordinate database, cache, and storage migrations safely

- Ensure operational parity post-migration (monitoring, alerting, backups)

4. Cost & Operational Optimization :

- Analyze cloud billing data to identify structural cost inefficiencies

- Validate and track cost savings post-migration

- Optimize infrastructure for predictable performance at lower cost

- Balance cost efficiency with reliability and operational simplicity.

Required Experience :

- 6+ years of hands-on experience as an SRE / Platform / Infrastructure Engineer

- 6+ years of experience designing and owning production infrastructure architectures

- Deep experience with at least one hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

- Proven experience running workloads on :

1. Bare metal

2. Private cloud

3. Colocation or dedicated infrastructure

- Strong Kubernetes experience (cloud-managed and self-managed)

- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform preferred)

- Solid networking fundamentals (VPCs, load balancers, DNS, firewalls)

- Experience operating live production systems under uptime constraints.

Strongly Preferred :

- Experience migrating workloads out of hyperscale cloud environments

- Experience replacing managed cloud services with self-managed equivalents

- FinOps awareness understanding how architectural decisions impact cost

- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)

- Experience designing hybrid backup and disaster recovery strategies
