The Lead Full Stack Engineer is the team's senior-most individual contributor and technical lead across both frontend and backend. They combine expert coding skills, architecture-level thinking, and hands-on leadership to deliver scalable e-commerce features on SFCC (with SFRA). This role mentors engineers, manages technical risk, and acts as a key partner to the Tech Architect and Delivery Manager.

What Youll Own (Responsibilities) :

Technical Leadership :

- Guide full stack (and cross-functional) teams on best practices for SFCC/SFRA, JavaScript architecture, and e-commerce design patterns.

- Act as primary code reviewer for mission-critical features, helping define the engineering culture.

Hands-on Engineering :

- Lead by example with high-quality contributions to key frontend and backend projects.

- Unblock technical hurdles and set standards for performance, security, and maintainability.

Architecture & Integration :

- Collaborate closely with the Tech Architect to make stack-wide technology choices, design complex integrations (internal and with third-party systems), and ensure proper use of SFCC's extensibility.

Mentorship :

- Coach engineers across the stack, upskilling those new to SFCC and JavaScript technologies. Conduct technical onboarding, workshops, and code walkthroughs.

Process Champion :

- Ensure engineering excellence via CI/CD, test automation, code review discipline, and aggressive technical debt management.

Stakeholder Collaboration :

- Work with Delivery Manager, QA, and business/product leads to scope, estimate, and prioritize work.

- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical partners. Contribute to sprint ceremonies and roadmap planning.

Quality and Reliability :

- Drive efforts to improve system resiliency, scalability, and production readiness.

- Lead technical root cause investigations for production incidents.

- Testing strategy and quality engineering leadership

- Performance optimisation

- Oversight of release pipelines, deployments, and multi-site rollouts

- Technical roadmap and engineering standards ownership

What Skills Youll Need :

- 8- 10 years of professional full stack development, with substantial experience in e-commerce/transactional domains.

- Hands-on expertise in both modern frontend (JavaScript/ES6+, React, Vue, HTML5, CSS3, ISML) and backend/server-side JavaScript (Node.js, SFCC controllers/services).

- Minimum 1- 2 years leading teams or mentoring engineers in an SFCC, SFRA, or major enterprise e-commerce environment.

- Proven ability to design and ship scalable systems integrating frontend, backend, databases, and third-party APIs.

- Strong grasp of CI/CD, code quality metrics, and agile/scrum practices.

Good-to-Have :

- Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC/SFRA) platform expertise, with experience on production B2C systems.

- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

- Familiarity with cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), REST/GraphQL, and containerization/BFF patterns.

- Deep knowledge of e-commerce business logic (catalog, cart, checkout, inventory, orders).

- Track record uplifting codebase quality through refactoring, code reviews, and process improvements
