Barco - R&D Manager

Responsibilities :

- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle (concept to commercialization).

- Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS) for mechanical/electronic product domains.

- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) if managing software teams.

- Expertise in material science, embedded systems, or IoT solutions is a plus.

- Familiarity with DFMEA, Risk Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques.

- Strong background in design validation & verification, prototyping, and testing.

- Understanding of IP management, patent filing, and technical publications.

Analytical Tools :

- Statistical tools for data analysis (e.g., Minitab, MATLAB, Python, Excel)

- PLM systems and documentation tools (e.g., Windchill, Arena, Jira, Confluence)

Optional (Role/Industry Dependent) :

- Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 26262)

- Hands-on experience with AI/ML models, data analytics, or simulation software

- Experience with regulatory submissions (CE, FDA, BIS, etc.)

Qualifications :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Science, or relevant technical field (Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, Materials Science, etc.)

- 8+ years of progressive R&D experience in product innovation or technology development

- 3+ years in leadership or management role, leading cross-functional teams

- Demonstrated success in launching new products/technologies in competitive markets
