Role: Tech Lead Backend

Role Type: Individual Contributor + Technical Leadership

This is a hands-on Tech Lead position, with approximately 7080% hands-on coding/IC work.

You would be responsible for:

- Writing and reviewing backend code regularly

- Owning technical direction and architectural decisions

- Designing scalable and reliable backend systems

- Mentoring Senior Engineers

- Driving design/code reviews and engineering standards

- Debugging and resolving complex production issues end-to-end

- Working on business-critical systems where correctness and reliability are extremely important

- Making technical trade-offs around scalability, failure handling, performance and reliability

Mandatory Requirements:

- 6+ years of overall Software Engineering experience

- Strong hands-on backend development experience in at least one language such as Python, Java, Golang, etc.

- Prior Tech Lead / technical ownership experience

- Strong System Design and Distributed Systems knowledge

- Strong CS fundamentals including DSA, OS and Networking

- Experience owning complex or business-critical engineering problems end-to-end

- Experience mentoring Senior Engineers and conducting design/code reviews

- Comfortable working as a hands-on IC + Tech Lead, rather than a pure people manager

- Experience in Product Companies / Startups / B2B SaaS

- B.Tech/B.E./B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
